I was born and raised in Clackamas, Oregon graduating from Clackamas High School in 2004. I was a multisport athlete, playing basketball and running track. I continued my education and athletic career at Clackamas Community College as a multisport athlete where I played basketball and competed in track and field. I was a junior college All-American in the hurdles and long jump. I transferred to Concordia University-Portland to compete in Track and Field and pursue my education to become a mathematics teacher. Soon after I graduated, I took a teaching and coaching position at Clackamas High School. I got moved around NCSD but ended up back at Clackamas where I was the math department chair and the head track and field coach. I served on the district mathematics leadership team, new teacher mentorship program, and athletic leadership council. As a teacher, I won the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year Award, voted on by the student body. I was an On Point teacher of the year candidate. As the head track and field coach, my teams won four Girls Mt. Hood Conference district team titles and was the runner up in the other two years. The boys team improved every year under my leadership and had her best finish this last season finishing second. During this span I was voted by my peers as coach of the year three times, in 2017, 2018, and 2022.
