Aric Ward to receive an Inspirational Teacher Award
First-year honor students at Eastern Oregon University have nominated 9 educators from across Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington to receive 2018 Inspirational Teacher Awards.

Freshmen who maintained dean’s list standing during fall term of 2017 nominated a high school teacher who influenced them on the road to higher education and academic excellence. EOU presents the Inspirational Teacher Awards annually in recognition of outstanding high school teachers who encourage and represent the importance of higher education to their students.

Ethan Gallant, a 2017 graduate of Central Catholic High School recommended Aric Ward to receive an Inspirational Teacher Award. Ward is a member of the World Religions staff. Ethan had this to say about his teacher:
“Mr. Ward was one of those teachers that I enjoyed listening to every day in class. He introduced me to many different perspectives and taught me many life lessons. His stories were so funny and he gave everyone in the class the dignity they deserve. He really taught me how easy it is to see through someone’s image and find what makes them special. Mr. Ward’s class was special because I could voice my true opinion without any judgement from Mr. Ward or my classmates. I feel that no matter the student, Mr. Ward could find a way to relate to them and make them successful.”
