Class Visits Columbia River Gorge
Seniors taking Environmental Science headed out to the Columbia River Gorge on a class field trip. They learned about the geologic history of the Gorge including the ancient basalt lava flows and Missoula floods that carved out the gorge. Covered some human history of the Gorge as well like the construction of the Old Historic Columbia Highway, Vista House, I-84, and Bonneville Dam. During their trip, they also hiked to three waterfalls, looked for native plants, and discussed the plants uses to Native Americans.
