Democracy In Action 2017

On Friday, December 4 our seniors participated in an event organized by our Social Studies department called Democracy In Action. This opportunity provides a meaningful, authentic learning experience about what it means to be active, engaged citizens. Our students got to meet and talk with thier local elected officials and representatives. Students were encouraged to focus on what it means to be an active citizen and how to be critical consumers of information. We were excited to welcome back two alums to campus, Tigard Mayor John Cook ‘78 and Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Derrick Peterson ‘81.
