John Guthrie is in his 5th year with the Central Catholic coaching staff, serving as the co-defensive coordinator and working hands-on with the linebackers. Coach Guthrie has been a high school football coach for ten years, being promoted from a volunteer position to a coordinator at the Varsity level in both Oregon and Washington. Most recently as a Special Teams Coordinator, his players have achieved new heights and records at Central Catholic High School, with three players earning All-State selection honors. As an assistant football coach at Central Catholic, Guthrie has experienced continued success over four seasons, winning two State Championships and three Mt. Hood Conference League titles. 

A Social Studies teacher at Central Catholic, Guthrie uses his teaching passion in order to vary his on-field instruction so that all of his players, with varied learning styles and baseline knowledge, understand a given concept.
